Tragic Deaths Bring Home Importance of Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Today's Chicago Tribune article reports the tragic news of deaths in Rogers Park due apparent carbon monoxide poising. CO2 is a silent killer and can tragically kill in a matter of minutes without the occupants knowing there is any problem. CO2 can accumulate for many reasons - including a faulty furnace, block exhaust, etc. Tragically, for one family in Rogers Park, awareness and prevention against this common risk come too late.

Chicago Property Taxes Too High? Appeal.

One of the greatest parts of living in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago is the abundant opportunities to take in cool art. One of my favorite artists is Chuck Meyers. His art is whimsical at time - as evidenced by the series of Jelly beans pictured here - but also exhibits a great appreciation of the neighborhood he lives and works in. Get Ready for a New Year's Parade

The time is Noon til 4Pm. If you like lion and dragon dancers, be sure not to miss it. Oh, and come out to hear the Senn High School marching band too. Should be a blast.
